This painting started with a walk through the prairie. Wildflowers and native grasses wave at me. I stoop for a close-up view of a flower with pollinators buzzing all around.

The sunshine warms my skin. I feel good in it. I have my nice camera with me, and I take photo after photo.

.
Later I start drawing from them, playing with the intersecting shapes.

.
I don’t need the photo anymore as I recall how I felt, as I interpret what I felt.

.
Then my love for color shapes starts to take over, and then it’s not so much me that paints, but knowledge, experience, emotion.
