Last week we got a new furnace/AC and had to live without air conditioning for a few days in 95-degree heat. It was bearable in my studio until the early afternoons, then it got a little hot! So, the title of this painting reflects how I felt as I finished it...just wanting to jump into a pool of icy cold sherbet! And eat it too, of course...

The process, however, took me three to four weeks. I had to figure out the composition of the shapes. Design, value, and color are usually the most important part of a painting. If those aren't working in any way, the painting suffers. Pinks are hard to mix without them looking like pepto bismol. It has taken me years to learn how to mix a variety of lovely light pinks, orangey-pink salmon, and chiffon-like pastels. I really love the soft brightness of this painting.
