Being near large bodies of water has become a meaningful source of inspiration for me, and I find myself drawn to the shapes, colors, and feeling of these familiar places more than to depicting them literally.

Inland Sea in particular comes from a memory of looking out the window of the Cape Cod cottage where my husband and I stay, with the water just beyond it I wanted to capture something of that quiet view—the suggestion of trees, shoreline, water, and horizon, and the feeling of being there.
