LOOK AT THAT TREE. Oh my...OK, I prefer the fireworks in fall over the fireworks on July 4th. All around us there is splendor and majesty. Do you relate to this feeling of awe and wonder? 

Near our house is a place we like to walk our dog. It is essentially a huge park of many types of trees, part of Purdue University's forestry department. This perfect fall day proved glorious as I wandered in and around the trees, allowing Meghan, our Co-Jack (Corgi Jack Russell mix) to sniff to her heart's delight. She is energetic enough to require daily or sometimes thrice-daily walks. It's good for me, too. Most days I can achieve over 10,000 steps, thanks to her. 

Walking around this park I saw that bright shining tree and had to go over to it, so I could 'experience' it better. It was so bright I thought if I took a selfie with it I would be sunlit. Not quite, but still a gorgeous thing to stand next to! 

After our walk I got into my art studio and started painting. I can't say that I painted a complete work of art with the fall colors as my muse, but just being in nature gives me a sense of peace and a connection to something bigger than myself. I fill up my 'creativity-well' as much as  I can so my work -- my paintings -- becomes an out-pouring for you.

This painting is full of sunlight and fall colors and a little mystery, too. The shapes are nature-like yet without an exact description. The yellows are like sun. Orange is like marigold, and the green-blues say sky and sea.
